05/14/2009–Valerian Root

I discovered tonight that Valerian Root is the equivalent in the feline world of catnip. Thank goodness!

You need to go to the original source (the plant) and use its root.

The synthetic versions are not the same.

Valerian root smells like ass but it does seem fairly effective for relaxation and sleep. Just wondering if you build tolerance over time and if there are other long term effects.

It’s strange because I took Valerian a while back, and the relaxing effect seemed to be much stronger. Maybe I need a tincture form, too…

Valerian works pretty well for me. It really relaxes me. I use the capsule form, but it sounds like there is a tincture form, too.

If you search for Valerian on YouTube, you’ll find others who have posted about their experiences with it. Most seem to be similar to my own.

I use a tincture formula of Valerian. The capsule/powder form isn’t absorbed by my system readily.
